Moth Watch!

Moths are on the wing at all times of the year but more so when it’s calm and warmish. Surprisingly they will even fly in the rain. We are able to meet, talk and learn about moths whatever the conditions and it’s unusual not to see at least 1 or 2. On a perfect evening the results can be staggering.

A torch is useful to bring though not essential.

Moth Watch!

Everything you need to know about the remarkable world of moths! A lively introduction with opportunities to ask questions or share experiences followed by best attempts to find and identify some. This usually involves gathering around a bright light which will attract moths if the conditions are suitable. After studying and marvelling we can safely return specimens  to their habitat.

How to identify moths, what a moth’s life involves and how to become a lepidopterist yourself.

No previous knowledge or experience required.

Note this event is not a walk as such.
